What is the Reverse Mortgage Development Workgroup?
The mission of the Reverse Mortgage DWG is to collaboratively review and enhance the MISMO reference model and corresponding work products to provide more holistic support for reverse mortgages. The workgroup will strive to “mainstream” the reverse mortgage programs which are often seen as niche by providing opportunities for data and documents, in an industry-standard format (with data definitions), to be easily and consistently transferred between all parties involved in the reverse mortgage lifecycle.
Reverse Mortgage DWG Roadmap
Current Focus
- Development of an origination focused dataset specification that can be used to transmit reverse loan data to support the following use cases:
- LOS to LOS
- POS to LOS or CRM (bi-directionally)
- Enable a vendor to produce and return loan documents
- Board a reverse loan into a servicing platform (including interim servicing)
Deliverables Include
- Dataset specification
- Submission of MISMO reference model changes
- MISMO Business Glossary & Business Process Model changes
How to Join
Anyone may participate in a MISMO development workgroup or community of practice regardless of membership status. Voting members of Information Management and Architecture Workgroup are elected as per governance procedures. Membership in MISMO is open to anyone - mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions, servicers, vendors, government agencies and more. MISMO members receive a voice, and vote, in creating and enhancing industry standards used by the entire industry. Learn more here.
